Respected friend William Lloyd Garrison: Agreeable to a previous notice, a meeting was held on the 29th of 1st mo., by only 17 persons, for the purpose of considering the propriety of forming an Anti-Slavery Society, and after some discussions, a Constitution was formed, and signed by 14 of them.

Officers chosen: Dr. Lewis Whitney, President, Wingate Frost, Vice President, Joseph Brackett, Secretary, J.M. Marston, Treasurer, Committee: Dr. C. J. Adams, James McArthur, Aaron C. Waldron

Another meeting was held on the 11inst., at which forty persons signed the Constitution. The Society now consists of 84 members….
