Content: An Anti-Slavery Society was formed in Barnstable, Feb 13, 1835, when 17 subscribed their names as members.

Officers : Zaccheus Hamlin, Esq., Pres. Capt. Timothy Baker,, Charles Goodspeed, Warren Marchant, Esq., Vice Presidents;

F. Marchant, Esq., Rec. Sec’ry; Rev. D. Chessman, Cor. Sec’ry; Otis Loring, Esq., Treasurer.

The next meeting was at the Baptist meeting-house in Hyannis, March 17 … 53 new members added; in the evening of the same day. In a meeting-house in Aserville, 39 new members were added, making the whole number of members 100. Hyannis, March 30, 1835
