At a meeting of persons friendly to the formation of an Anti-Slavery Society in South Weymouth, held at Columbian Hall, April 25, 1836 it was voted to choose a committee to draft a Constitution .

Costitution Adoped at a meeting, May 9.

The Society numbers eighty-six members, eighty of whom are legal voters.
