At a meeting of the inhabitants of Saxonville, favorable to the cause of abolition, held April 5th, 1838,they formed an Anti-Slavery Society.

The following gentlemen were then chosen officers:

Cor. Secretary, Lewis Jones, Esq., Rec. Secretary, Mr. Samuel Soden
Treasurer, Mr. Edward Poor
