Some of the friends of the slave met on the 18th of January last, at the vestry of the Brick Church, for the purpose of organizing themselves into an Anti-Slavery Society.

The following officers were then chosen for the ensuing year.
Dea. Joel Adams, President; John Clement, Vice President;
Dea. Joshua Smith, Secretary; Noah Ball, Treasurer .

Standing Committee: Rev. David Stowell, Rev. Orin Tracy, Rev. John Emery, Rev. Ezra Blood, Jr., Dea. Levi Ball.

The Society consisted of one hundred and forty five members; sixty-nine males, and seventy-six female.
